A Course in Leadership

where has your leader
taken you today,
beyond the pale, over
the rainbow where pots
of useless consumer items
end, lined up one after
another, enough to reach
the moon and back, piled
into 30 yard dumpsters,stacked
end-to-end as high as
the trade towers once were
i see you climbing after
him in his suit, but that's
just an illusion projected onto
a screen, recalculating route
reconfiguring profiles of
cowardice, manipulation and
the next big thing in
this godforsaken sphere of
influence, transcendence of
independence like a death
sentence. what do you want
for supper? a wedge? a
slice of the pie? maybe a
food fight is in order, an
inflight meal winged into
the back of the head of
the closest broker, CEO or
security contractor brought
onboard to neutralize dissent,
restore order, and improve
sales of the latest flatscreen
restraining devices with LED
readout of your every wish
come true, within reason, just
follow these easy to read
instructions, just raise your
hands where we can see them
and step away from those calendars.
